Month of March
March is Women’s History Month! The tradition originated from a 1978 local "Women's History Week" in Santa Rosa, California, which was intentionally timed to coincide with International Women’s Day (celebrated on March 8th). The movement gained national momentum after a coalition of historians and women’s groups successfully lobbied the White House, leading President Jimmy Carter to issue the first presidential proclamation in 1980. By 1987, Congress officially designated March as Women’s History Month. Its significance lies in its dedication to unearthing and celebrating the "hidden" contributions of women—from the suffragists and civil rights leaders to the scientists and artists—who have historically been excluded from mainstream narratives, ensuring their legacies inspire future generations to advocate for continued equity.
In New York City, you can celebrate the month by exploring the city's deep-rooted feminist history through curated events and public landmarks. Throughout the month, you can visit the Center for Women’s History at the New-York Historical Society, take a "Women’s History Walk" through Central Park to see the Women's Rights Pioneers Monument, or attend the 12th annual Girls in Science and Engineering Day at the Intrepid Museum on March 14. From library author talks to evening gallery shows in Manhattan, the city offers endless opportunities to engage with the past, present, and future of women's leadership.

Date: Tuesday March 17th
We hope you have something green in your wardrobe because St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner! Tuesday, March 17th is the Feast of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Feast Days are a Christian tradition where a specific saint is commemorated. St. Patrick was a 5th-century Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland who wrote the Declaration, in which he describes his life, including the time he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Gaelic Ireland. He spent six years working as a shepherd, and it was during this time that he proclaims to have found God. After fleeing and making his way back home, Patrick spent the rest of his life in the priesthood until he died on March 17th.
In modern times, St. Patrick's Day has become a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador (for provincial government employees), and the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated across the world in places with large Irish diaspora populations. These celebrations typically involve public parades, Irish traditional music sessions, and wearing green clothing or shamrocks (so you don't get pinched!). Drinking alcohol has also become a large part of the holiday, so much so that the Lenten tradition of abstaining from alcohol is lifted on this day. Whiskey, beer, and cider are among the most commonly enjoyed beverages, but none more iconic than the dark Irish stout, Guinness. It's the perfect time to practice splitting the G.
In the US, celebrations can be seen in major cities across the country. In Chicago, the river is famously dyed a vibrant green each year, drawing massive crowds to the waterfront. New York City will be holding its 265th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, marching up 5th Avenue in one of the longest-running and largest parades in the world. Whether you're Irish or simply Irish for the day, there's no shortage of ways to join in the festivities, just don't forget to wear your green!

Happy Holi! Every year, the date of Holi shifts with the lunar calendar, falling on the full moon between the end of February and the beginning of March, this year, the ancient Hindu festival of colors was celebrated on Wednesday, March 4th. One of the oldest festivals in the world, Holi dates back to the 4th century in India and carries deep cultural and spiritual roots.
At its heart, Holi is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil. Its origins tie back to the victory of the god Vishnu over the demon king Hiranyakashipu, as well as the love between the divine pair Radha and Krishna. It is also a time to let go of old grievances, forgive, and start fresh — making it as much a celebration of the spirit as it is of the senses.
The festival actually begins the night before on Holika Dahan, or "Chhoti Holi." People gather around bonfires where rituals are performed to honor the victory of good over evil and to symbolically burn away the old. Then comes the main event — an explosion of color, joy, and play. People take to the streets throwing colored powder and water at one another, all dressed in white so the vivid hues show up in full display. Each color carries its own meaning:
Together, these colors paint a picture of everything Holi stands for: the blossoming of love, the promise of spring, and the hope that comes with new beginnings.
While Holi is rooted in India, it has blossomed into a truly global celebration. Here in New York City, the holiday is embraced with parades and organized color festivals across the five boroughs, drawing together people of all backgrounds to share in the joy. Whether you've grown up celebrating or are experiencing it for the first time, Holi is a reminder that color, community, and a fresh start are things worth celebrating, no matter where you're from.

Get ready to embrace your inner mathlete—Pi Day is returning on Saturday, March 14! This annual holiday celebrates the mathematical constant pi, which represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter--an infinite number that begins with 3.14 (hence the March 14th celebration date!)
While the number itself may be irrational, our love for the traditions surrounding it is perfectly logical. Since March 14 falls on a Saturday this year, we’re encouraging everyone to find "well-rounded" ways to celebrate. You can indulge in the classic pun by enjoying a slice of pie or a circular pizza (visit this site for spots in NYC offering deals on pies and pizzas!), or challenge yourself to see how many pi digits you can memorize. Regardless of how you celebrate, we hope you take a moment to appreciate the "infinite" possibilities we’re working on together.

Happy birthday, Aries! With Mars in Pisces, you’re starting your birthday month in a surprisingly quiet and reflective mood. You’re dreaming big behind the scenes, and when Venus hits your sign on 6 March, you’ll feel the power of your magnetism. You might feel like a bit of a hermit, but trust that this incubation period is making you more powerful. By the 20th, the world is ready for the new you. The end of the month may bring gifts, opportunities and more – but you will have to assess your social network and/or long-term goals to make the most of them. Remember, the choice is always yours.
You’re in the mood to mingle this month, Taurus. Early March is all about those who are closest to you, though Venus in Aries might make you feel a bit more private about your love life. Use the Mercury Cazimi on the 7th to clear up any lingering drama with friends – it’s definitely worth doing. Towards the end of the month, the focus shifts to your long-term legacy. When your ruler, Venus, enters your sign on the 30th, you’ll be the main character – reach out to a mentor or old friend who inspires your career goals to make the most of this spotlight. Opportunities will gravitate towards you, so make sure you’re ready to achieve them.
Mercury Retrograde might be tugging at old heartstrings or family drama, but don’t let it make you angry. Try to control any outbursts, as you don’t want to say anything you’ll regret later. The Virgo eclipse is pushing you to find a better work-life balance – you might become aware of a new opportunity within your current job or might want to consider what you want from your longer-term career. By the 20th, when Mercury stations in retrograde, the fog lifts and you’ll finally see how to balance your social butterfly nature with your professional ambitions. It may take a while for you to see the results you want from this work, but in due course, you’ll see that it was worth it.
The travel bug is biting hard this month, Cancer. You feel that a trip somewhere different and new could give you a perspective that can help you rediscover your self-worth and confidence. While an eclipse isn’t the best time to book a flight, it’s a perfect time to research your dream destination. With Jupiter going direct in your sign on the 11th, your confidence is returning in a big way. You’re ready to level up your career or learn a new skill. Whatever it is, you’ll have a new sense of discipline and focus. You know you’re ready to put in the work and you’re keen for the challenge, so focus on how you can make these changes.
Money is on your mind this month, Leo. Use this time to strengthen your knowledge of finances and take control of budgeting. The eclipse might force you to take control of this sooner rather than later, but don’t panic – it’s just the universe asking you to be more intentional. Mid-month, you’ll realise that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness – it’s a power move. This vulnerability could actually make you more magnetic, and your openness will give you the possibility of new opportunities. Consider how open you are with the people around you and lean on them for support when you need it.
With a lunar eclipse in your sign, March is a massive turning point for you. It’s time to stop being your own toughest critic. Relationships might feel a bit tense early on, but being honest with yourself can help you gain clarity in this area of your life. Communication will become clearer in the latter half of the month, and you’ll find the right words to heal any broken bonds. From the powerful lessons you’ve learned in the first half of the month, you are open to being more vulnerable with a few selected people. You understand the importance of emotional intimacy – treating these connections with respect will bring you closer to your loved ones.
If you’ve been feeling ‘off’ or physically drained lately, your body is trying to tell you something. There’s some subconscious clutter you need to clear. Lean on your inner circle for support; you don’t have to carry the world alone. You may eventually receive advice or stumble upon some information that could help you with the frustrations you’ve been experiencing lately. As the month ends, focus on building routines that support your mental health. Learning how to push through tough or confusing moments in your relationships with others will be a recurring theme, but bit by bit you’re learning how to be more connected and vulnerable with the ones you love. This is all necessary to build strong and long-lasting bonds.
You’ve had an intense run lately, Scorpio, so March has you itching to go out and have fun. Whether it’s a new hobby or going on a date, enjoy it and make sure to remain light-hearted. There will be yet more chances for joy towards the end of the month, just remember not to forget your responsibilities. This month is all about finding balance, especially within your job. Work-life balance is necessary, especially for someone as focused as a Scorpio. Don’t be afraid to ask for help; more people are open to offering assistance than you think, so make sure that you use that to support you.
Home is where the heart is this month. You might have to put some work into your family connections, but once you do this, it will strengthen your foundations and allow you to have more fun in your life. You may have a surprising emotional realisation by mid-month: you want exploration, but you also crave stability. As Mercury stations direct, the idea becomes clearer and louder. You may have some insecurities about how to create this balance in your romantic life, but ideas will start to come if you step into the energy. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable.
You’re finding your voice, Capricorn, and it’s a bit fiercer than usual. You’re standing up for your truth and letting go of ‘people-pleasing’ habits. While you’re speaking your mind, you’re also learning how to do it with heart. This authentic communication is actually attracting new people into your orbit, making it the perfect time to write down your non-negotiables for the year ahead. This will also help create a sense of peace and calmness in your life.
Everything might feel a little frantic this month but it’s important not to panic. It’s best to centre yourself so you can find the sense of inner calm you need and be receptive to it. Don’t be afraid to go to your friends or small circles you are a part of for assistance. In the second half of the month, you may be presented with an opportunity that will either provide financial gain or an increase in self-worth.With Mercury stationing direct, things are finally flowing in your direction again. Your emotions are finally settled – you feel good even though you’re aware of the transformation you’re experiencing. With a solid foundation, you can withstand anything.
It’s still your season for a while; however, you’ve also been feeling a little agitated over past situations that you haven’t resolved emotionally yet. This is making you think that maybe there are certain relationship dynamics – regardless of whether it’s romantic, platonic or otherwise – that you need to reflect on and revise. Give yourself a chance to do this; it will pay off. The new moon in your sign on the 19th is your cosmic refresh button. You’re maturing into a version of yourself that doesn’t just wait for permission – you speak up for what you want. Celebrate this and lean into it, as it might bring new opportunities.
